Ramblings from Quarantine

Beware: disjointed ramblings ahead!
I'm making this journal as a sort of incentive for me to be more active in fandom.
With all the free time I have during quarantine I've gone down memory lane a bit and while I remain active as a lurker I have not been an active participant in fandom since 2007. I was 16 years old then and here I am now an almost 30 year old pile of unmade ideas and ghosts of headcanons never to see the light of day.
I haven't written anything substantial in terms of fanfiction since maybe 2010. This journal I hope will give me a space to practice and explore. Maybe I'll start doing some prompts and challenges again.
I really miss being an active fan, producing and sharing content. It was when I was the happiest. As to why I stopped there are a myriad of reasons. Abusive relationships, low self esteem, depression, work. Codependency is a tough demon to exorcise.
And yes this journal's name is a play on Julia Cameron's book The Artist's Way. I thought it would be appropriate since the book is all about rediscovering your creative voice and that's basically what I'm attempting with this DreamWidth account. Except more gay.
My real online handle is liseymop. I post all my art under that moniker so feel free to look if you'd like.
I guess this is it folks.
